Kayama Quilt Project

Thursday, June 8, 2023 19 Sivan 5783

8:00 PM - 9:30 PM
One of the most meaningful rituals on Simchat Torah is when we drape a large talit over our children as they are called to the Torah. We are blessed that our community has outgrown our current talit.

We are getting together to make an extension quilt that is personal and meaningful to our community and reflects our thoughts and blessings for our children as they stand on the bimah and our solidarity and hopes for those who struggle to build a family.

Kayama invites the women of Kesher to come together to each decorate a square that will be quilted together to form our new extension.

Each attendee will be given a white cotton square to decorate, the squares will then be sent to a professional quilter who will create the canopy for us.  We will be guided by some of our own community artists, who will be available at the event to assist with ideas and execution.

This event is for adults only in honor of our children.

When: Thursday, June 8, 8:00pm
Where: Kesher Social Hall
