We will examine sources, both classical and modern, outlining the limits and boundaries of the concept of the Divine origin of the Torah and what that notion includes.

 

►Shabbat Morning: Mental Health and the Religious Community: Personal Reflections and Public Dimensions
This talk will share personal experiences about dealing with mental illness coupled with suggestions for making our community more responsive and embracing.

Can’t We All Just Get Along? Relationships Between Orthodoxy and other Denominations

We will examine sources and paradigms providing insight into how Orthodoxy should relate to other Jewish denominations and the implications for today both here and in Israel.


Rav Nati Helfgot is Chair of the Department of Torah She Baal Peh at SAR High School and rabbi of Congregation Netivot Shalom in Teaneck, NJ. He is a part-time faculty member at   at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah Rabbinical School and the Drisha Institute  in New York City and for the Wexner Foundation. He lectures frequently throughout the country, has taught at Frisch and TABC and was among the founding faculty members of the Maaynot Yeshiva High School in 1996.
